Albemarle County is currently working with the Virginia Department of Transportation and the Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission to develop a master plan for the U.S. Route 29 North corridor. This process, called "Places29," combines a study of potential transportation improvements to the corridor with land use planning for the county's four northern development areas. Linking these efforts offers an important opportunity to develop an improved vision for the future of this area.
